Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, inaugurating the college in the presence of DCI Chairman Dr. Anil Kohli and other dignitories.
The ever-increasing awareness for dental care both in rural and urban India has led to a proportional increase in demand for well-equipped dental facilities and skilled dental professionals.
In 2004, a group of like-minded dynamic individuals, specialists in their own fields, came together with a common vision to contribute their best to help bridge this gap between demand and supply. Barfani Academia was formed and the foundation for starting a Dental College in Bilaspur was laid.
A state-of-art dental health care and education facility was installed on the outskirts of Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh state known as New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute (NHDCRI).
NHDCRI was started with a commitment to provide quality education, patient care and research. It was incidentally the first and only institute in this part of Chhattisgarh state dedicated to field of dentistry.
Since then, the faculty and paramedical staff at the center have been providing quality health care services to the people of the region.
Two years later, i.e. in 2006, the Government of India granted permission to New Horizon Dental College and Research Institute to enroll students for the Bachelor in Dental Surgery (BDS) course thus starting our journey to train skilled dental surgeons.
The college was formally inaugurated by Dr. Raman Singh, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh State at a function in the presence of Dr. Anil Kohli, President of Dental Council of India as the Guest of Honour.
Housed in a sprawling campus and equipped with the latest dental care infrastructure, the college provides an integrated education for its students with an optimum mix of theoretical classes, practical laboratory sessions and extensive clinical practice.
This seamless integration helps creating a better understanding of dentistry and its relationship to overall health.
